Cruising In New Brunswick
New Brunswick - a Cruising Paradise
Quite often, people will choose remote destinations for their holidays, or at least dream of such destinations. This is especially true when it comes to cruising. However, since this kind of vacation derives its charm mainly from the mere fact of being on a boat and grasping the immensity of the world at the sight of the boundless ocean, you don't really need to go very far to have a magnificent cruise experience. For people living in the US, for instance, New Brunswick is pretty easily accessible and it unfolds before the cruiser an impressive panorama and unbelievably diverse sea life.
Travellers to Canada often have Campobello Island among their "to visit" locations. With a beautiful lighthouse and great vegetation, the island will enchant the tourists with its flower pot rocks - gigantic rock formations made by the bay currents, which resemble huge red clay flower pots at low tide and small islands with trees at high tide. The island is also famous as the summer home of US president Franklin D. Roosevelt. Chances are you'll be staying in one of the nine rooms at the cozy Lighthouse Inn, which is truly a unique accommodation experience, offering a wonderful view of the ocean and offering you all the comfort and peace you could dream of.
You'll probably set foot in New Brunswick through the Saint John port of call. Don't miss a travel back in time walking along the charming shops and museums in the central part of the town. One spot you should not miss is Market Square, which is part of the town's restored riverfront. If you happen to be there in July, you'll witness - and be able to participate in - the Loyalist Days Festival, a reenactment of the United Empire Loyalists landings from 1783. The parades, the costumes, and the antique fair all combine to create an atmosphere you're likely to remember for a long time. One month later, in August, tourists have a chance to join locals as spectators of the Festival by the Sea - a cultural event bringing together performers from Canada and other countries - or the "Buskers on the Boardwalk" - another exciting festival bringing the port to life with its events containing magic, mime, and music.
While no one can deny that New Brunswick is not the same as a cruise to the rainforests or Bermuda, it is also obvious that the charming vacation opportunities offered by the Canadian coast can ensure a wonderful holidays - so nice that even passionate cruise lovers should have it on their destinations list.
